Bestowed by the International Design Center Berlin, the annual awards honor outstanding design and intuitive quality in electronic products, digital solutions, services and environments. From this year onwards, the competition also includes professional concepts, prototypes and research projects. All nominated solutions and services will be exhibited at IFA, the global consumer electronics show in Berlin, from September 1 to 6, 2017 .

Session 1: E-Learning with SimMed

SimMed is an interactive e-learning program that enables medical examinations in a virtual environment. The multi-touch screen spans over the size of a table and allows to examine a pediatric patient by means of medical instruments and laboratory findings. Resulting out of a cooperation between Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Archimedes Exhibitions, the project tries to reduce the distance between theoretical education and practice.
